Hlaudi Motsoeneng, the SABC’s unloved Chief Operating Officer and infamous Jacob Zuma yesperson, didn’t want the country to see violent protests that are wracking it almost daily. Principled SABC journalists stood up against him; the acting CEO walked; the institution he professes to run is on the verge of the meltdown. Benghazi findings 'rigged', Trump claims


The Orange Menace has lashed out against FBI director James Comey's recommendation that Hillary Clinton's Benghazi email scandal not be prosecuted. "Our system is in fact rigged. It's corrupt, it's rigged, it's disgraceful," he said. With Trump lagging significantly behind Clinton in polls, it appears the wigged wonder is pulling out the vitriol stops to try and recover. Read more
















Pistorius to be sentenced


Oscar Pistorius is to find out just how much time he will be spending in jail. Today, three weeks after re-sentencing proceedings were concluded, Judge Thokozile Masipa will deliver the sentence, and with luck everyone can move on with their lives free of Oscar trials. Read more
















Chilcot report due in Britain


Seven years after former prime minister of Britain, Gordon Brown, announced an investigation into the Iraq War, Sir John Chilcot's report is due to be released today. The Iraq Inquiry could have widespread ramifications for Tony Blair and the British military, as it was tasked with investigating major intelligence and strategic failures before and during the occupation of Iraq. Read more
















Federer up for historic Wimbledon clash


Roger Federer looks set to make history today. If he defeats Croatia's Marin ?ili?, Federer will rival Jimmy Connors' record 84 wins. Winning an eighth Wimbledon title if Federer advances today, however, remains a larger target to aim for. Read more
